How to use the image watermark tool

Use this tool to add your name or source to photos for a blog, portfolio or shop before posting them, to discourage unauthorized use. Choose text or a logo, set the position and opacity, check the preview, and apply the same settings to many photos at once. Your photos are never uploaded to a server.

How to use it

  • Add photos and a preview appears using the first one.
  • Choose text or a logo image, then enter the text or pick the logo file.
  • Adjust position, size and opacity and check the preview.
  • Press Process to apply the same settings to every photo and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Visible but not annoying

A small mark in a corner does not spoil the photo but is easy to crop out. A faint mark repeated across the whole photo protects better but gets in the way of viewing. Choose based on your purpose. Around 40 to 60 percent opacity and 4 to 8 percent of the photo width is a sensible start.

White text can disappear on bright photos, so keep the shadow on. For logos, a PNG with a transparent background sits naturally on the photo without a box around it.

Copyright and credit

A watermark is only a visible credit and does not replace legal rights. Copyright belongs to the photographer from the moment the photo is taken, and you can also leave your name in the EXIF data. This tool removes EXIF by default, so turn on Keep EXIF if you want to retain it.

Watermarked images are saved as new files separate from your originals. Keep the originals. A watermark cannot fully prevent unauthorized use.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add the same watermark to many photos at once?+

Yes. You can apply the same settings to up to 20 photos and download them as a ZIP. Sizes are relative to each photo's width, so photos of different resolutions get a similar look.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?+

No. Everything is processed inside your browser and neither photos nor logo files are sent anywhere.

Can I remove the watermark later?+

In the saved result the watermark is merged into the photo and cannot be undone. That is why you must keep your originals separately.

Do watermarks support non-English text?+

Yes. Text is drawn using fonts installed on your device, including letters, numbers and symbols such as ©. Shapes may differ slightly between devices.

Does adding a watermark reduce quality?+

The watermark is drawn at the original resolution, so the size does not change. Saving as JPG or WebP can cost a very small amount of quality depending on the setting, barely visible at a high setting.
