About ExifLens
What is ExifLens
ExifLens is a free, browser-based toolkit for photographers. It reads the EXIF metadata embedded in your photos, helps you calculate long-exposure times for neutral density (ND) filters, and lets you generate clean, shareable frames that display your camera settings alongside the photo.
Why We Built It
We wanted a fast, no-signup tool that respects your photos — everything runs locally in your browser, so your images are never uploaded anywhere. No accounts, no watermarks you didn't ask for, no waiting on a server.
The Photographer Behind ExifLens
ExifLens is built and run by a working photographer who shoots landscapes, cityscapes and autumn color under the name Chronicle of Moments_SH. Every tool on this site began as a small problem in the field: working out an ND filter exposure at the water's edge, checking how wide a lens really is on a crop body, or finding out exactly when the sun would line up with a subject.
The photographs below are our own work, and the watermark in each corner is the same name behind our guides. They are here so you can judge who is writing the advice you read: not stock illustrations, but frames that taught us the lessons we write about.
Who It's For
ExifLens is built for landscape and long-exposure photographers who need a quick ND filter calculator in the field, and for anyone who wants to check or showcase a photo's camera settings without digging through desktop software.
